Empty Bottle Of Perfume Goes For $216K In Auction (WCBS-TV New York)
A bottle of Lalique perfume that was originally purchased for $50 has been auctioned off for $216,000. An elderly woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, received the bottle of perfume, called Tresor de la Mer or treasure of the sea, from her husband in 1939 after he bought it at Saks Fifth Avenue. The woman, who is now in her nineties, held onto the empty bottle and the box it came in for years.
